3 drivers in a truck? Legal?

    I have a friend that has this crazy idea, he has back/hip issues so he can only drive a few hours a day. He wants to buy a truck, and hire 2 drivers - run it as a team. He wants to be an "occasional" driver on it, just a few hours here and there.

    My question is as follows, is it even legal to have 3 people on a truck, much less 3 active drivers? I told him the idea was asinine but he insists on going through with it. If anyone can shed some light on the legality of this, it'd be much appreciated.

    Enough seatbelts... Do the tiedowns in the sleeper count? Only 2 seatbelts other than that in the truck
