I have a 97 Kenworth W900 with a cat 3406E that everything worked properly before we replaced the head. Now the engine fan stays running all the time. I can unhook the power to the solenoid on the firewall and the fan will disengage. Plug it in it turns on. The manual fan switch is in the automatic position, with the A/C off.

I hooked up a Snapon ProLink and shows the engine fan on obviously, just doesn't show what switch is keeping it on. Any ideas?

Just a guess but the jumper harness that hooks to the high pressure a/c switch may be bad or the high pressure switch itself may be.

Mine did the same thing after a head replacement, the wires on the fan actuator sensor on the back side of the head were on backwards.

Check with prolink what your intake air temp is and if its normal.
Then check to see if high pressure switch for a/c is working and not faulty.
Water temp reading corectlly on the pro link.

    3 things activate the fan.
    Water temp
    Intake air temp
    A/c high pressure.

And manual switch on dash of course.
Keep checking all those along with wiring and you will find it.
