With the jake brake on, should the engine stall when the clutch or accelerator are not depressed. I am thinking that it should not be necessary to hold down on either pedal to prevent a stall at an intersection. I have forgotten how exactly the jake should function on this engine. Thanks for any help.

On the old mechanical engines, there was nothing to prevent the jake from functioning all the way to idle and killing the engine. It wasn't until the electronic motors that they cut out below a certain rpm.

We had a couple BC II Cummins on stands in school. Used to stall them with the brake to shut them down just for fun.
