Wow. You could have bought everything you'd need to build that yourself, and then built it yourself. Would have cost you the same in time & money, but you'd still have the welder & other supplies in your shop for the next project.

Bar stock, flat steel, a welder, and a drill....1/2 a day to put it together.

Sometimes I think I'm in the wrong business.....:biggrin_25526:

No way, this is a Lowmax and that's how low the suspension sits with the bags inflated. It was originally ordered as a heavy haul truck. It has a 8" drop front axle and 46k rears. It was set-up for lowboy trailers.

I have the equipment to build it already, I just don't have the time.

By doing this, I was able to move my overall gross up from 76,000 to 79,500. Before I would be at 13,000 on my steers and 35,300 on my drives. Now with my 5th wheel in the 4th hole I get 11,900 / 33,800 / 33,800. And that's with 200 gal of fuel.

Also, with the trailer tiled just a bit more to the rear, I get less surge.

Do you have an air gauge on the rear bags? If so, what was the PSI difference before the risers and after? Loaded I mean...

1230~1250mm(48.5~49.25 inches) is the recomended fifth wheel ride height in Western Europe. Like you SHC,I too over the years, have had to alter the ride height of various tractors to suit trailers,to make them compatible. One thing I did find was, once you got the balance right between the tactor and trailer, tire wear, handling, load distribution tolerances and driver satisfaction all improved dramatically, and you had a nicer running rig

Yea, not too tough to build, about 200$ worth of steel, get out the miller and a grinder, 4 1/2 hrs later, I have a set of 5" riser.

    Nope, those are not pedestals.

Pedestals are the pieces that the fifth wheel plate attaches to and pivots on.
