Am I the only one who is mildly annoyed with fast food places that want to know my name to call out when the order is ready? What happened to just giving out a number....I didn't realize a quick meal was supposed to be a personal connection of some sort.
All the more reason to just keep buying groceries and eating in the truck I guess...
A personal experience?

i think it is because no one really pays attention to the sales slip with the numbers on it, but pays attention to thier name. i started experiencing this at the local Taco Bell. -
I am also annoyed by it, I usually give them a fake name, and always listen in for the person before you, and try to come up with something that will make them think twice before they call it out. Usually they will call out 2 orders at a time.

Make up a name. Have fun with it. Make others laugh. Spread the good feels.
I use Wiki P Dia. -
One time I told them my name was "seventy four". So when they called it there were other customers looking at eachother like " How did he get a number and we had to give out names?"
Another time I told the my name was Joaquin. The cashier just gave me a dumb look and said "How is that spelled?" and I said "B-O-B". So then whe the runner called out for "Bob" I said "It's prounounced Joaqin!" (wah-keen). I walked out of there while he's looking at her like she messed it up.
Or if you're paying attention to the name of the guy in front of you it's fun to give them the same name. They have no idea what to do with that.x1Heavy, Big Don, HalpinUout and 4 others Thank this. -
I hate the people that whisper when announcing the number.
