    Hi all,
I am having a problem with a 1998 international 9100 day cab ac,
At the beginning of the day the ac works fine , then as the day goes on it quits working , so far I have replaced the
    Compressor
    Dryer
    Ac thermostat
    Expansion valve
And the high pressure switch on the compressor to condenser hose.
I have put 3 pounds of freon in it ( I think that's what it calls for ). I have been trying to learn ac repair and I usually don't have this much trouble but I am at wits end and the driver is getting upset, any help would be great
    Thanks

I had similar problems in one of the company trucks I drove. Company told me to take it to a TA to get it checked. They said the fan clutch was slipping. The company told me to bring it in to a terminal for repairs but ended up giving me another truck because they didn't have the part and didn't want me waiting around. Not sure if that fixed it or what.

Are you putting a vacuum on the system or just adding freon?

Too much freon. Bring it to a shop that specializes in ac systems.

Does the 98 have the thermistor system on it? It will look like this.

It's been awhile since I worked on a 98 and my stupid password is locked on the evlaue Navistar site because I put the wrong one in too many times today on another truck I was working on so I can't look it up. If it has these, they are 90% of the time the fault. The other 10%, I will need to hook gauges to it to see what is going on.

Since you are tryint to leanr AC, hold onto this document. You will use it and it comes in quite helpful.

Just replaced the Kysor fan hub assembly a couple months ago, the high pressure switch, that's the one on the ac hose from the compressor to the evaporator ?
