Hi everyone, I am having a problem with my pedal, maybe a sensor? I have a 2012 D13 This is now the third time in the past month that my acceleration will randomly stop.. I will be driving and all of a sudde my from 65 it will go down to 40-50.. If I pull over and shut down the engine, it works well. It happend two times in 1 week.. It also happened once last month.. Any clue to what it may be? Somebody told me it can be the sensor accelerator on the pedal.

That is what it sounds like..Does it throw any codes or check engine lights?
Shutting the engine down then starting it and it straightens out leads me to think electrical problem with the pedal sensor...Just a guess but I would have a shop plug into it and see if any faults are showing.AlexD13 Thanks this. -
I checked for any faults and none , it just happens while my foot is on the pedal. And it wont accelerate past that speed of 40-50

Yep....basically the pedal sensor is just a potentiometer and it could have a bad area....
It acts like one of those dimmer switch knobs for house lights...the more you turn it the brighter the lights get.
Not sure how involved it is to replace but should not be to bad. -
the next time it acts up see if the cruise control will still accelerate..

There is a TPI (Technical Parts Information) bulletin on the throttle pedal prior to 09/23/2013. It upgrades to a more reliable pedal, but requires a jumper harness and a reprogram of the ECM and VECU.
