Yeah I was surprised as well..you figure a new one at $150-155K.
Then add the Tripac and you're easily in the $165k range.
I'm out the door for 139K with the tripac..so actually saving around $26K.

A little off my $30k claim but close enough.
Now of course I haven't signed anything yet..but real close..but we all know how things can change.
I have a back up truck on standby..I would be happy with either one.
Either way I'll be driving something different here soon.

Wondering what made you go a Volvo vs the other brands?
    Good luck with everything!

I-shift for one..yes I know autos are for weaklings.
Uh huh..drive one and see what you think.
The Volvo is better laid out then the T680.
More room than our sleepers and plenty of storage.
Then there's the jake brake..which we don't really have with the PACCAR.

Just a few things that turned my head to them.
But we shall see if that's what I end up with.
There's always something they forgot..either way they have until tomorrow afternoon to decide or I'm going with another brand.

My head hurts from all this..but it will pay off.
By buying my own truck I'll save $1200+ per month.
Plus no weekly payment will be nice.

And it will lead me to My Own Authority..which is the real goal.

Freightshakers, Kenworths have autos too, did you look at those?
Jake brake does suck in the Kenworth I agree. In my company shaker the jake brake felt twice as strong.
I think Kenworth sacrificed storage for a fancy table and TV area which Idk if it's worth it.
The air ride on Volvos I've heard is supposed to be amazing

I dove a Volvo with the I-shift a few years ago and that thing was awesome. Volvo's are good trucks, don't know why there are so many haters of them. Guess mostly fans of the long hoods. Another thing is that the one I drove with the D-13 would pull a hill pretty good grossed out.

I've driven a auto volvo quite a bit. The truck averaged 6.8mpg keeping it at 60mph+ and pulling at least 20k consistently. I personally thought it was better than the freightliner auto I've drove.
