Well a trip around the back of the tractor shop and the trailer yard is always interesting. Check out whats left of the black Pete on the south side of the tractor shop, and there's a new trailer that has the side missing out on the south 40 in the trailer yard. Sheesh!

Nah... introduced myself to my new FM, gave my old one some grief, got my tires, ate a steak and blew town last night. Picked up in Joplin this morning, and am in KS tonight.

Its fine - just got stuff to get done...

    - Load to pick up...
    - Gotta get the hardcopy of my new license photocopied for Safety...
    - Which means I need to be in Denver this weekend to pick it up...
    - Also have to deliver in Cheyenne Monday night...
    - Need to take truckin' dawg to the vet...
    - Which means I need some time back in Denver, since vets don't work when I can get into them on the road...
    - Movie night on Tuesday with a hottie!

    Git-R-Done!

Mr. Cody - the guy with the most profitable lease board in the company - told me he's just plain burned-out.

I can understand that, and respect it. Been there myself, and its better to go a different direction than to let that kind of thing fester. There are a lot of folks who can't deal with it. There are a lot of folks who are totally bummed - including Dr. Zebra and Walcrawler... and well, me too!

I met his replacement, and so far he's done okay - not Cody-OKAY, but okay.

They should make a point to look up retired air traffic controllers. They must retire at 50 because of the job and they're already very used to high-pressure, high-stress work managing numerous moving things...

Once out of the Navy, I had an opportunity to go to the ATC school in OKC. Once I boned up on being an ATC, I said, heck I'd rather be shot at. At least being a Fed as an ATC, LEO or Fire Fighter they let us retire early with a pay bump in our annuity.
