I know there was an old topic about where to go and I've been trying to decide where to take my Cobra 29LX. The one in Dodge City Al is closest, but I'm just a bit concerned they reckon a peak and tune only takes about ten minutes. I want this doing right, signal tests etc, not a cut and shut job.

Can any of you guys tell me what basic stuff I need to make sure is done? I've read and read and so many different opinions.

I don't want echo, but I do want a strong clear signal (I'm using an Astatic 626, so mic should be fine). Possibly get it amped up.

    Thanks

Yeah it is simple, make sure they know what the hell they are doing. Too many so called techs are just plain wood butchers and don't understand what tuning is all about.

    ERF Thanks this.

If you do a Google search for the white list of cb shop to trust it will be a step in the right direction but unfortunately only one of those shops is capable of tuning a receiver to my standards.
