Yeah I know, the section is CB.... But there is no other place to post this, sorry if it offends.

I am curious as to how many run an HF rig? I have a Yeasu FT857 that I am eager to install. I enjoy the 6 meter bands mostly.

Have a great day or 73s,

    Kenny

    Awesome,

I will keep an eye peeled for new posts. I need to study for my general class ticket. It seems, I may get the time for that very soon.

I have the FT857D. I'm mostly on 40m with an ATAS_120. I another technician class rig under the bunk. I haven't found a good place to mount the rig permanently yet. 20m is very noisy for me and I haven't hear a soul on 6 or 10.

Thanks for the heads up on the 6&10. I am a rookie driver, have not even been placed with a trainer as of yet. So for now its a 2m HT. Plan to take one day at a time, and try to get through the next 6 months. Plus read everything I can, that will help the career change.

    Thanks again

You'll be just fine. The HT is a great idea on the road. Gives you someone else to talk to beside your sucka trainer. Sorry, my trainers where putzes.

    Inthedark Thanks this.

The HT is a Yaesu FT-270.

I do also have a FT-857, so eventually that will be nice to use.
