I was looking under my 2007 international 9400 with the cummings isx engine, and saw this threaded hole behind my oil pan. Anyone know what suppose to go here? I'm assuming it's vibrating itself off at some point. Pics attached. Thanks.
Anybody know what this hole is or what goes in it?

Probably just a plastic plug that goes in there. On some applications that hole might be utilized for a speed sensor.

You can get a screwdriver in there to turn your flywheel for when you're, say, adjusting a clutch and don't have someone to bump the starter.

Ok. Is driving it gonna damage the truck somehow? Is it something important that needs to be plugged up? Do I need to take it to a shop and get them to put fluid back in or something? No idea how long is been missing. I just noticed it because of the red paint I could see through all the oil as I was crawling around under there.

It is for installing an auxiliary engine speed sensor for auxiliary equipment such as PTO's, pumps or remote engine status displays. With today's electronics, this is mostly obsolete now as most auxiliary equipment ties into the vehicle wiring for info such as engine speed. It is perfectly harmless to leave open. There was never any fluid in there, you just have some oil leaks.
