My apu will run about 30 minutes then shut down. The temp light is on on the panel. So I figured the fan was bad. After changing that it still does the same thing . All fluids are full. I have a carrier comfort pro. I am guessing it would be the temp sensor. Where is it at on this apu?
Apu is overheating

OK, this is an admittedly half arse guess, but is there an intake air filter that could be plugged?
Dragonmywagon Thanks this. -
Air filter was dirty. So changed it but still shut down within 15 minutes. Pretty sure it is the temp sensor

There is a recall on the temp sensor of comfort pros.

Check your 15A fuse. Proper coolant purge. ALT/Water pump belt proper tension. Then go with seeing if the radiator fan is working. Kicks on at 170. 15 amp/ bad fan switch, or faulty fan. proper function of the thermostat. If still mystery and everything is working change over heat temp sensor. Still on curring issue it needs a head replacement.

Overheating issues. Is your fan kicking on? No, check the 15 amp fuse. Fuse is fine? Might be your fan switch (sensor behind the unit down on the backside of the radiator.)
Fan is running could be a bad overheat sensor that kills the unit randomly. This sensor has been known to be replaced because it has a I wanna say a 5lb torque limit, and tends to be over torqued causing the probe inside to break.
If you have a reservoir on the back of your truck for your unit, length of hoses can be a factor, also they're is a burping/ purge procedure that is fairly easy to do when topping off your coolant reservoir. Also when doing this procedure I usually tighten the alternator/ water pump belt. I I should of listed this procedure first cause this is my first steps when dealing with over heat issues.
Could possibly be a stuck thermostat.
Your unit should be serviced every thousand hours. Cleaned/ washed from road grime. Air filter changed.
Sorry how unorganized this post was. Did it on my phone.PE_T Thanks this. -
Dang saw that I answered that almost a year ago. Anyways sorry you're having to deal with people who just take guesses and yet you still have to pay that labor rate.
