Most of the LTL jobs pay more than that. I still wouldn't work for them no matter how much they paid me. About where do you stay?

Some snitches have job security; the company uses them for information. I learned this when I would work on my days off at the company doing yard work, wash bay, auditing logs in dispatch. Would do all this to make extra money by the hour on days off or waiting for a OTR dispatch.
Kept my mouth shut and listened and observed and learned who the snitches are and how the terminal manager depends on them for information. He let them pad their time cards and let them take a day off and still get paid for 10 or 15 hours.
Once, on a Saturday, I was working on the yard and noticed no one was in the office. The snitch that worked there was out of sight, so I sneaked into the office and went online to a computer back in the corner that he wouldn't notice. Opened a gay sex website then went back on the yard without being noticed.
Corporate, later that week, demanded an answer as to why someone was logged on to a gay sex website for 8 hours on a Saturday. Pretty obvious it wasn't me because I was on the yard working switching and washing out reefers. He still didn't get fired because they needed him, but he was really grilled for several hours over several days. Pretty obvious to the company he was lying because he was the only one working in the office that day.

Meh,a gay sex website won't get him fired, just a slap on the wrist, now kiddie porn(a la Jared Fogle)-that will definitely guarantee somebody's getting fired(and incarcerated).;)

They allow most beards & mustaches for the last year or two. Covered tattoos & piercings OK
The company GIVES you $150/yr to buy uniforms. 5 shirts & 5 pants typically cost $150-160. One year buy pants/shirt. Next year buy coats/boots. At least with a uniform you don't look like a hitchhiker or drug addict. Can't say the same for the cut-off sweatpants & flip-flop crowd.

Trooper can you please confirm you and I haven't had any bad blood? I've only worked at one dedicated part of the company I'm at now so I doubt we ever crossed paths. I'll tell you anything you want to know about me in a private conversation.

The company likes Boy Scout types. That has it's good & it's bad.The company now allows facial hair. Tats & piercings are OK if they are covered. One thing that gets me is they strictly enforced uniform/image guidelines at the same time they used temp drivers that looked like biker gang members & hip-hop starzz. How is some guy in street clothes that looks like he's at a customer to rob the place OK while a company driver in full uniform, but in tennis shoes a blight on the company image?

City drivers in Nashville are paid $23/hr (+overtime?), IIRC. The company pay varies according to several factors. Drivers on Dedicated accounts earn pay based on that one customer. A similar customer with their own dedicated account pays drivers a different amount. One account exactly like mine but with a different customer paid more than mine. I hired on to get a regular schedule, home every night, 2 weeks off each summer and almost 2 weeks off from Xmas - New Years, plus paid holidays and excellent benefits. Yeah, I gave up over $1k a month from my last OTR job, but I slept at home, never went to Chicago or NYC and knew my schedule for 1 year at a time. I get 3 weeks paid vacation a year and have for many years. I have complaints with them but typing them here won't fix any of those complaints.
