I stopped by my former employer, a Freightliner / Star dealer, and was talking to a buddy about the new 5700. He laughed and said they have been very disappointed with them so far. There is a 51 page slide show to learn how to seal up all of the water leaks in the cab and the a/c system ducting has huge gaps where they join together and you're supposed to seal them up with tape....at least the ones you can access. He said he doesn't understand why they didn't use the Cascadia a/c system that works well or why they didn't learn how to seal a cab cap after all the water leaks they experienced with the early Cascadia's.

Yep, freightliner has ruined WS it used to be a hand built truck. Now it's junk and a fleet trk like the crapcadia. Wow profits do mean more than quality

New model glitches. Happens every time a manufacturer brings something new to the market. They'll get if figured out soon enough.

I agree Steel Dragon, the Cascadia is a well engineered truck with decent quality. I'm sure they will figure it out, but I was really surprised at the issues on this new model all things considered.

My 2015 cascadia has been in twice for windshield leaks. The first it was letting in buckets of water on the upper passenger side. After they replaced the entire gasket and reinstalled the glass, it leaked even worse, but on the upper drivers side. They replaced the gasket again, and "used extra adhesive this time." We'll see how it goes this time. Haven't been in rain or a truck wash yet.

Windshield leaks suck....the 2016 T680 I was driving leaked from the overhead compartments every time it rained. Never found out if it was the cab cap or leaking around a clearance light....leaks suck!

Same here, but driver side upper window. Only when I get a wash, not in the rain, even if it's pouring, driving or sitting it doesn't leak. So I'm not gna bother with it cause it might get worst if they try to fix it.

Can confirm. We have had TONS of issues with water intrusion into the cab through the HVAC. There is a recall but it's only made it worse. I'm not sure why they didn't just use the cascadia HVAC system, it has very little issues. Done door seals on numerous 5700s, done axle flange gaskets with less than 1,000 miles on them that are leaking. They are nice trucks, but build quality seems very poor.
