BF/GF team heading to millington, TN 2/2/15

Awesome....I hope to be in Memphis in a couple weeks to start my journey. Maybe I should start a story thread too.

I will start my blog as soon as I get my hearing aid and ready to go.

 

I spent just under 2 hours trying to get out of Atlanta traffic yesterday. My mentor makes the same run everyday but somehow managed to have us leave the distribution center at exactly 5 pm. There's no way this is coincidence. It's been like this all week.


Fortunately for me, I know how much it frustrates him for a girl to beat him back to the truck when we stop. He got a "mean" text message about how he was holding me up at our fuel stop last night. AND I turned the A/C down so cold he had to put his coat and hat on. He says I'm the only driver he knows who likes it colder than him. I appreciated the compliment and was glad he couldn't see my fingers turning blue.

I'm currently 7 hours ahead of the training schedule.

 

How are you two doing?

 

I'm right around 135 hours btw--averaging 9-10 hours per day. My mentor says I'm doing well. I still hate backing but I've gotten pretty good at dealing with Atlanta rush hour traffic. I spent the first week pulling reefer now I pull reefer and dry. I should be ready to test out and get on the truck with Spectacle next Friday. He's been out on his own, but I'll let him tell his story.

 

I am in the first week of the academy on the range. Got a way to go before I get where your at. But So far, I am having no problems at all. Just another checkin the box right now.
