Seen the billboard - had a look at the website.

Seems like a potential nightmare. I thought the whole '1099' thing was illegal as far as the IRS saw it?

    Thoughts anybody?

I don't guess I have been down that road. No idea what your referring to. 1099 is not illegal, if done properly. Few know how to do it properly however.

Really caught my eye was the line, as a W2 employee make more money at your current job. May not be exact quote? Ok so sign up , haul our freight with your bosses truck and we pay you? Guess the boss buys the fuel? Am I seeing that wrong ? Truck owner gets screwed! Great idea , NOT!

I think their suggesting you are given a truck and trailer and freight to move for a one time move, or short term contract - yeah, I'd be furious if my driver disappeared with my truck to go freelance!!

Look at it the other way too. If you've got a load to move, would you just toss the keys to your truck to some random dude who answers an add on the internet? Who's liable if he's stoned out of his gourd and causes an accident with property damage or injury?

I cruised around their site quickly, I didn't look at everything. At a glance it seems like if you are truly picking your loads and when you work and where you go that it would be the legit way to 1099.
