Hi, I was not sure how to call this, but the question is about the extra/additional pay for crossing the border. I know some (if not most) conpanies pay drivers for crossing the border an extra $ amount. About a year ago I talked to a Canadian driver waiting for an unload. I remember he said that they pay him 250 dollars to cross. Not sure now if he meant USD or CAD. I didn't pay much attention back then, but this starts to bother me now since I started working for a company that sends me to Canada. And the pay is much lower - $50. If anyone can share how much (if any) his company is paying for crossing the border I will appreciate that. Don't need to know the conpany name or anything, just trying to figure out the average/standard. Also, does it make a difference, where you actually cross? Which way you go, etc? Thanks in advance for your input.

magoo68 and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
I will pay you $250 to cross the border. I will complete the package with a 2000 mile load and pay you 0.15 per mile.
You need to look at what you will make in a year, the work you will do, and will you be ok with it. Don't get so caught up in accessorial pay. Unless it is extenuating circumstances.
A friend of mine gets $10 to cross. One way only.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
