I was nervous as sh... When they dispatched me on a load going to Brooklyn. As soon as I entered NYC, my gps went crazy and literally turned off. I called Jetro and they told me, whatever I do, don't go under the Lincoln tunnel or cross the Pawtucket river bridge ($6,000 fine). I-95s to 278w and look for exit 26.

My heart almost stopped when I went under a bridge that said 12'9. The sign was so small, I didnt see it until it was in front of me. The local drivers there told me you can go under 12'9-12'10 bridges but anything below, well Sayonara.

Pain in the butt trying to back up to the dock. Blind side, and the 4wheelers there dont got any patience. I think one was small enough to go under my trailer;). Luckily 2 spotters from the shipper cane out and helped me.

I thought it was anything below 12'2" marked in the city. What gives me pause is how are the ones outside the metro compared to that. I see the signs now a heck of a lot better than I did in 2004 when I started driving big trucks.

We go under the Gowanus (or is it the BQE?) to 60th street to get down to 1st Avenue by the Army Terminal. They are getting rid of the clutter under there so it now looks less threatening.

I had no intention to go there, but just called TQL about this load going From Brooklyn to Detroit, just to see the price. So two pick ups in Brooklyn, one in NJ, 44k and all for $800!!! I could not resist the laugh and told him I would do it for 3k. He just wished me a good day. Happened like an hour ago

I don't run NYC period, I hated that god forsaken place even before I started driving trucks, and had nothing but bad luck with that area when I started with a company that forced into NYC. It's bad enough that city screws the rest of my state, and forces upstate to accept its dimwit policies, as well as supplies nothing but corrupt scumbags to occupy the governors seat. I wouldn't try most of the intersections of that place with a pup trailer. Even buffalo, Albany and Chicago aren't nearly as bad.

come on now, that jetro is easy to get to, just watch out for all the people going to home depot.

NYC, bridges, yellow background, anything marked 12'6" you will fit under with no snow and ice build up.
If the sign is black letters on a white background, that is the actual clearance.
