I completely agree with you. I hate to see them go as well.

 

Bruces truckstop, first thought bakersfield california... what an interesting place, was pay to park, then not, then was, then closed, then reopened then padlocked by the irs with big signs.

Now for the truck stop in Tulsa, stopped there a few times, and always had good food in the restaurant...Not surprising another independent truck stop is going away, as they original owner is ready to retire.

 

The "mom and pop" TS is past tense. Even independent restaurants catering to the general public is having a tough time. I gave up on QT as a fuel stop when they literally turned the existing showers into closets. They are a better convience food store, but still not on a par with Wawa or Sheetz in the northeast, where you can get high quality foods prepared before your eyes, and reasonable prices on staples like individual drinks and milk. QT is good on the available personnel, never a wait.

Welcome to the future of trucking. I am waiting for an installed option on a truck called "The Nutrition Tube". Comes out of the instrument panel, flexible tube you just suck Soylent Green or something like it when hungry, no need to stop.

 

I agree. I also enjoy their generic energy drinks and Gatorade. It would be nice if they would have tables where I could eat the food and perhaps a TV room. The only one I have ever been to is Greenville, Texas, so maybe others have such amenities.

 

Don't know about this place. But I do like QT... Beats PFJ taking it over.

Anyway only one to blame is the Owners for selling out.

 

owner is not selling out, he is retiring, and getting his investment back.

 

LMAO..... first time I was there was in 96....spent like 2 or 3 days their waiting to deliver then to reload between Christmas and new years..... before they reopened the weed patch ts on the corner...

 

I thought the one in Tulsa closed years ago for some reason I know a tornado took out the original one in the early 90s I think

Just went by there, a couple days ago. Guess it was slow going, That new QT still isn't finished yet.
