Had a load last week in which my top tarp was sitting higher than my bottom (load was higher @ front then dropped lower) I thought oh no biggie been here done this.....so I took my bungie from the left side to the right side over the top to keep the tarp tight.....the middle flapped a little but the sides where tight.....after driving all night I find my bungie had snapped tore a hole in my tarp and I guess from the tarp flapping so much it took that rough seam and pulled it from the tarp.....
How do you bungie your tarp to stop this from happening..
Also.....where do most of you put your bungie straps for storage?

I Tie them in a bunch and string them under the trailer, using the cross members.

I do the same. Wish I could find a better way to do it but I haven't.

Toss an extra strap over the flappers. Try it.

Otherwise add more cords to the holes and connect under the trailer until flapping stops or you run out of cords.

In my day with a covered wagon, one side was pernamently tied off with rope. that allowed for many cords to be added to the flapping side.

I like to have the front tarp overlap the rear tarp by 4 ft.

First, set the rear tarp and secure the corners. Then do the 4 ft overlap, secure the corners of the front tarp, get everything tight. Throw a 4 inch strap over the middle of the overlap and tighten. Then button down the front, rear and sides. That strap will not vibrate in the wind as much as a bungee.

When you say secure corners I'm guessing you mean temp. Bungie down tight so nothing shifts.

All my bungees are in a massive ball in a tool box! LOL. I just throw the entire ball out on to the ground and go to work!

I also carry 100' (cut in to 4x25' sections) of bungee rope from ebay. Good stuff! You can wrap things!

For my bungees I cut a chunk of 4" PVC pipe a bit longer than the bungees and them just hook them on each end. They never tangle and I can easily carry it around the trailer to put them on or take them off the tarps. I just went to the hardware store and asked for them to sell me some remnant pieces for a discount price and they gave me the pipe for free. I have several different lengths for various sizes.

Just gotta make sure it's plenty long enough-hot day those bungees stretch and get longer temporarily
