    So what kind of time extra might be involved (assuming good weather) to go via 287/12 if going all the way across?

    Being that it eliminates the climb up Cardwell hill and Homestake probably about 1/2 hour difference. Terrain is flat until you reach McDonald pass then flat again. You also bypass the Rocker scales.

    If you would need fuel in Butte, fuel in Three Forks instead. The truck stop in Helena does not take most fleet cards. The next stop would be Bonner or Missoula.

    I've never ran that way. Never had the need to I guess. Next time I'm light, weather is good, and have time, I'll give it whirl.

    From what I can gather, they have modified the EB 90 detour to a much easier route than was specified at the beginning of the project (in the original post link) and the long OOR bypas is no longer required. (East bound)

    They have since built a temporary "reconnector ramp" that makes the east bound detour almost non-existent and is not an issue. West bound detour? I'm unsure what that entails.

    What they did was take the i15 north exit and built a new retc.off of that bypasses the bridges and reconnects to i90. I would still take the detours or OOR as you call them. Shorter passes to climb, miss rocker scales etc. But hey, that is just me...

    Can 15 south go straight through? It only says for 15 south traffic to 90 east..

    Yes. Looks it's done now to where 15 south is as normal
