I'm trying my best to find info and advice on what year trucks are the best for emissions. I don't want to derate and be out of service and out of $$.

Staying on topic here, the only options for Schneider IC are 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017. I am definitely leaning towards Cascadia.

A brand new truck is not an option for me. Neither is 2016. When we get down to 2015 and older, that's what I can possibly afford.

In terms of emission system problems and derating and breakdowns....Are 2014s on average better than 2013? 2013 better than 2012? How bout 2010?

If your determined leaving company and going to choice I would strongly recommend doing a one year lease on a company spec,d cascadia with park smart. This would give you the opportunity to learn the board, your numbers etc while you research what works best for you. I wouldn't spend 50,000 on a potential nightmare. Take a year and figure it out. Not answering your question. I know. It's just the only advice I can come up with.

One thing you need to know, The aftertreatment system does not last forever, nor does the engine thanks to EGR, whether it's just the DPF or DPF & DEF with SCR and all the components and sensors. The more miles on a used truck, usually 300K and up, the more likely you're going to have problems and replacements. They're NOT cheap nor are the people that don't know how to fix them!!!! That's why a lot of people want the gliders. No emission components to worry about.

If you have cash reserves for a breakdown then you should not lease at all. It's only going to prolong you from really owning a truck
