Weird, that OC has or had a pretty quick express bay. Every trailer I've picked up there had to go through it.....

    Vilhiem Thanks this.

It's gone back and forth as to what exactly the dvir actually does. Some say it does report, others say it doesn't.

If you were on paper here due to an issue, the dvir on the paperlog isnt forwarded. Stays with regulatory. Elog should be no different right? Otherwise theres little use for the seperate macros. Other than a diligent driver pretripping and finding an oos or not gonna haul with that trailer issue.

I have reported via macro those kinds of scenarios where I didnt take a trailer.

Now what if anything happens once they get sent is above my paygrade.

I drop tbo loaded relays just to mess with those pesky wanna be super trucker ic choice drivers that can't make it as a real owner op and need a mega carrier to hold there hands.

Technically a DVIR isnt needed unless there is a defect. But Schneider still wants to play hard ball and make drivers require them. On your QC under measeges you compose and macro 12 report trailer unit defect. That will get to SEM. Will they do anything probably not. You should also call it in..

    Technically......
    396.11 (a) and (b)

    (a) Report required. (1) Motor Carriers. Every motor carrier shall require its drivers to report, and every driver shall prepare a report in writing at the completion of each days work on each vehicle operated, etc

(b)Report content. The report shall identify the vehicle and list any defect or deficiency discovered by or reported to the driver which would affect the safety of operation of the vehicle or result in its mechanical breakdown. If no defect or deficiency is discovered by or reported to the driver, the report shall so indicate. Etc

    Technically speaking.

I thought this was changed several months ago to only require the DVIR if there was a problem. I still always do it because SNI requires it. Maybe they changed it back.
