Carrier Genisis 1000 high pressure alarm problem

    I have a 2001 carrier Genisis 1000 with 19,000 hours on it. The unit shuts off and the fault light comes on and reads HI PRESS SS comes on. When I restart it a few times it works fine until a few days later the same problem happens. Has this happened to anyone and what steps should I take to fix the problem.

    Well, I would run it and heat and see if the code comes up. I am not extremly well versed in Carrie's but I suspect you have a unloader that is stuck/sticking.

    Pressure wash the condenser first. If it's full of dirt or exhaust soot from your truck, that can cause a high pressure issue. While you're washing stuff out, go inside and clean the evaporator too. You'll be amazed at how much trash collects in there. If it's still doing it, get it checked at a dealer.
