That's...odd.
I can hear people I can't talk to because they are far enough out that I can't break their squelch.
Also remember... their stuff will affect how far out you will hear them.
If your kicker (or high power radio) interferes with *anything* in your truck... if it's a class C box, throw it in the trash... if not (or if it is, and you think it's worth converting to a linear box) find a real CB tech, who has the proper tools, and knowledge of how to use them. A dead giveaway that your tech is clueless is if he only watches a meter when he's tuning. 26-27MHz does not interfere with the electronics in your truck. Some of the higher-order harmonics of 26-27MHz absolutely will. A radio tuned by a tech who knows what he's doing will transmit on 26-27MHz...and that's it.
And just a note... if your #### is interfering with your truck...do NOT key it up near an airport. 3rd and 4th order harmonics (~108MHz and ~136MHz) will screw up ATC and other aviation communications. This will, beyond a shadow of a doubt, land you in jail. Possibly on terrorism charges. Federal prison for a long time if convicted. Proceed with caution!

My issue was that when I keyed up, it burnt up my amp. No reflect threw it back into the amp and radio
-
Lots of things that cause that to happen. It could very well be it was a combination of problems.

Anyway, here's a video by a real tech, that shows what I was talking about above actually looks like on the tools. These butchered pieces of #### would really screw up your truck:
Note how at a quick glance, the waveform looks "OK" - but, watching in 720p,if you pause it right there and really look at it, you can see how messed up it is. This was probably tuned to a voice or whistle on a scope, rather than using a 1k tone so you can H-center it and thoroughly examine it.
They'll be doing what they're supposed to do after he gets done with them.Last edited: Feb 19, 2016

Since It is prone to corrosion it needs to be kept clean for a good ground unlike the stainless ones. -
If you don't rough up or knurl that stainless steel post, and you use a stainless steel bracket, the bracket will spin on the post. At least mine did until I roughed up the post. You can see where my bracket is bent a little because I kept tightening it down trying to get it to quit slipping
