I want to run a mirror mount single antenna on the driver's side on a 2015 Cascadia of what I read they say to use a top load antenna any suggestions I have a brand new stock Cobra 29 LTD Classic.
At the moment on a good day I'm getting out about 4 miles but I can hear people from a lot further with the stock integrated antenna.
I don't want to talk to people a hundred miles away but I hear with the right antenna and a stock radio you can talk to people 10 - 15 miles away that would be good by me I just want them to hear me clear and I want to hear them clear

This has been covered already. You've got some reading ahead of you.
But you can forget about talking 10-15 miles, clearly, on a regular basis. You don't have a linear, or the right barefoot radio, seven foot firestik or not. You also probably drive a Cascadia.
Search the forum. Or just look at the threads that are on the first page of this sub forum .TheDude1969 Thanks this. -
Get a truck specific mount
Get good coax <---route it properly
Get a decent antenna
Get the SWR checked, and/or adjusted
Get talking!
If top load is what you want, I suggest any fiberglass taller the better.Last edited: May 20, 2016
