If you guys don't know, I went & got my CDL training through Swift. I signed their contract agree to pay back the $4,400 if I quit early. Well I did end up quitting. I quit for personal reasons, not the company, they were great. I'm currently with Schneider Bulk & I'm loving it so far & the pay is decent for me as a new CDL holder. When I left Swift some companies would not hire me due to this contract with Swift. I don't actually have my CDL certificate of completion until I pay the money back. Schneider did not care about this contract which I'm glad they didn't. So my question is once I get my one year of experience will companies want to hire me or will they still look at it as I'm under contract with Swift. Also I know some companies say they hire recent grads but you have to have you certificate to bring in which I do not have. I'm wondering if the companies that I see that say they hire with 6 months recent CDL experience or 1 year recent CDL experience still consider me without having the actual certificate since by that I'm have experience. Or do most companies actually want to SEE your certificate to make sure you actually graduated from a school? Or is that just only important to companies when they hire someone fresh out of school with no experience so they can verify they have been trained by a certified school? & before someone thinks I just skipped out on the bill with Swift that's not the case. I'm currently on a payment plan with them. Thanks for the replies guys!

I know nothing about the companies you speak of or CDL school, I didn't got to school to obtain my CDL. What I'm wondering though is do you have a valid CDL license in hand without any restrictions? That's all I've been asked for and never have had any certificate other than my actual CDL license.

Google - Fake cdl school certificates. It's all there. My cousin bought one showing he has a 4 yr. business degree and landed an excellent job with it.
Your experience with Schneider Bulk is what your next company will look at. You've proven yourself, so most companies will hire you.RajinCajin, austinmike and Thull Thank this. -
Certs are ########.
Actual CDL does the talking.
I still have the cert from my school but frankly it's just a show frame, no one ever asked for the #### thing.
If your life is so empty you need a inkjet cert.... and no actual CDL... you have a problem I think. -
Thull, do you send the payment to Swift or a finance company?

Couple of new grads walked in to a Trimac terminal in your area last week and asked for a job. Terminal manager said he wasn't going to hire any more new grads. The next morning the phone rang and he asked when can they start.
