So, I've been with Central Transport for a little over a year and a half now as a city P&D driver... Have been assigned to a second terminal for the last 10 months now and would like to maybe be of some kind of help to anyone with questions about the company.

Company culture as far as micromanaging would be interesting. What experience they require? Pay scale? Equipment?

Edited to add: It's a company I don't see many reports about, so looking forward to more info.

Further edit: Looked at the CT site, for driver jobs they use a search link to Career Builder. Because they worded it poorly it mostly shows jobs from competitors. Fixing the wording shows 2 positions, one driving. Pay for driving not specced.

Here's a link to the corrected search if anyone is still interested...http://www.careerbuilder.com/jobs?keywords=+"central+transport"&location=

Do drivers still have to work the dock, or do you guys have dedicated dockworkers these days?

What happened to Link, Mochecian, Pro Logistics. GLS Lease Co, and all the other shell companies Uncle Matty was running? What happened to all the Old Ford 9000 Central had the shell companies running back in 2002-2004 right before the Sterling era?

Central looks like they got rid of all there 28' trailers haven't seen a set of Central pups in a long time.

Also are you guys still on that ridiculous dolphin system that caused drivers to quit left and right?

I actually seen that they are hiring here in buffalo, and I sent my application just to get sum information. Gentlemen said their city drivers start at $22.00 an hour. And expect to work 40-50 hours a week. And he also said no overtime till 55 hours.

He had me going till that last statement.

Do you get fast pass across the ambassador bridge?

Don't see any central transport trucks around here anymore. Mostly Universal.

I'm not a fan of any company that uses the OT loophole to screw people, HOWEVER I know a couple guys at the terminal near me and although the OT thing is true they get a start time right out of the gate and don't work the dock, and are pretty happy over there. Me personally I had OT after 8/day and liked it that way. I have no clue what their like benefit wise.

Is this the company that has trailers that been through a war, and also ugly yellow color? Why is that almost every ltl company has poor equipment, but pays well. I dont get it
