Hi,
I am planning to change the engine on my 2012 Volvo - VED13. The replacement engine that I found is advertised as 2014 engine with low miles. The seller doesn't have a vin number of the truck from which the engine was taken off. (I still have my 2012 engine with computer)
Could you advise what problems, if any, I may face with this endeavor.
Thanks!

What's wrong with yours and why are you not rebuilding it?

"bull'' gear got loose, stripped air compressor gear teeth, messed up cover of the back of the engine and all that stuff circled through. cheaper to buy used.

2012 and 2014 emission stuff differs. So use stripped engine, and fit your turbo, EGR system, ECM, wiring and sensors to this engine.
Mechanically all after 2010 D13 are the same with minimal differencebrian991219 Thanks this. -
Also, may I ask you about your background and qualifications? This truck drained all my savings and I can't make a mistake now))
Thanks im advance! -

Just use your ECU, do not change it
