Getting ready to sign on with a company who has t680s and Pete 579s..I know that possibly my connex is too wide to fit in the space where the radio goes overhead..so my question..anyone on here running a wider radio in a 579 or t680?? And if you are any pics?

They won't fit the hole. I looked at one of our trucks and if I remember correctly the driver removed that whole section of plastic trim the hole for the CB is in. It looks like crap but nobody will see it and it can be restored to original easy enough. When I drive one I just use my Cobra 25. It has the 2SC 1969 final and talks about as good as my Connex 3000HP so no loss there. The factory antenna system isn't very good but the SWR has been good enough to hook up my radio and go on the ones I've driven. That's more than I can say for the Cascadia!

That's what I did with my Stryker it fit in the hole once you remove the plastic piece that goes around hole.

I always operate on the principle it is easier to get forgiveness than permission. As long as you don't break anything or alter it, removing it and putting it in a safe place shouldn't cause anybody any heartburn.

Freightliner sells a bracket that mounts on the dash. All our trucks come with it. I like the radio on the dash better than above my head anyway.
