That is incorrect. The four hour minimum is for one sleep session. If he slept 16 hours straight, it's one sleep session. I usually sleep 2 h 4 hrs at a time. I leave the CPAP running for at least 5 consecutive hours per day, use it or not. For some reason, the last clinic I went to required 85% compliance, don't know why, but I didn't care because my machine showed 99.5%.

So if he sleeps at least 4 hours anytime in the day from 12am to 12pm this is going to count towards compliance for that one day correct?

If you are leaving the machine running and not wearing it will still record as time used? Don't they look at other information or just the time used?

Holy crap the cpap.! I can't believe all the commentary about ways to get around what the drivers need. They need to take a rest period and be on line 2,, nothing I mean nothing should require the driver to get up...if it does,,,start the break over,,,leave the machine on for 99% compliance. Do you really think you are fooling anybody ? The idea was created for drivers benefits not to play games with. I never felt better when I used my machine as prescribed. I was able to give a full day of work and not feel run down....
    Don't anyone get it ?

KriegHund, RERM and Wild Murphy Thank this.

They need to be in compliance, so I'm trying to figure out the best way. My fiancé works overnights usually leaving around 11am and not returning until 8pm or so the next night. He has to be up and down for deliveries and so does not receive a consistent 4 hours. It stinks!

Leaving it running but not on your face records it as a large air leak. The cpap records the difference. The doctor isn't stupid.
