CT transport pay really that low?

    From what im reading they pay .30 a mile and average 2000 a week? How the hell can anyone survive? Thats like 500 a week? I wouldnt get out of bed for that but i need the experience. Am i missing something here or is that really what they pay? Unloaded is like 20 cents.

    Brand new drivers make 40 cents a mile, I am a recent hire, they have been excellent so far.

    Not sure about where you are or the difference between Local and OTR but their hiring here in Richmond for home daily drivers advertising $1100/wk. I've talked to some of their guys and they seem pretty happy. I wanted to go over there but wound up getting a union gi or would have definitely gone for it.

    CT is part of COMCAR which includes CCC transportation, CTL, Willis Shaw express, MCT.

    I worked at the CCC division out of Auburndale FL for six years. It's commonly known as a stepping stone company. You go there right out of school, get experience and get out. Trucks are governed at 57 mph for the day cabs and 62 for sleepers which was painfully slow, benefits were ####, pay was ####. I saw 100+ drivers come and go in a few years just at our small local operation. I was within top 5 drivers in seniority after 6 years if that speaks volumes for their turnover rate.
