I work for a trucking company near Portland Oregon, I'm tired of seeing dealerships charge drivers 25k to 30k for inframes and way overcharge for even small simple problems, when I was doing rebuilds id get paid about 200-300 for the hours it took, when I was ordering parts through the company, a piston and liner kit was about 2300, a crankshaft was about 2000, about 700 for a bearing kit, 200 for gaskets, 1200 for injectors, 900 for valves, springs and retainers and about 900 for a cam. so that's what like 8k something, and a couple days work, and you pay that much on top of 17k for dealership labor, #### those guys man, anyone having any problems with the engine just let me know and I can probably tell you what it is, not much experience with isx engines, mostly n14, m11, series 60, c15 and 3406
cummins n14 anyone having problems, need solutions?

Ok great I have a situation. I have a Pete 379 with a N14 and get a code 4-3-1 occasionally. I recently changed the position sensor and after approx 450 miles the CE light came on again. I remember reading somewhere about a electro magnetic sensor (or something) down by the clutch or flywheel that could trigger this. Do you have any info on this? Thank you.

What does usually blue smoke out of exhaust mean? I usually get it at a start up and sometimes when idling for a while. N14 engine

Sounds like your Valve guides or Valve seals are worn, & letting residue Oil seep in on top of your pistons whilst your motor is sitting -

No way a n14 should be $25k or more. The ISX is $25k to inframe at dealer.
