I was being begged before my training even ended to get on either dollar general or dollar tree (I trained on dollar general) no thanks they both suck. I went to truck driving school to learn to drive trucks not unload them.
Instead I got on a pretty good dedicated acct. It pays well and I don't have to unload
To the OP if I had to choose I would choose dollar gen. I would rather move those stupid rolltainers than fingerprint every box
dedicated dollar accounts

Well doesn't look like it's going to matter I couldn't do the duck walk under their table that is lower than a trailer would be so on to the next one what are a some good companies to go with starting out of school . I'll do a northeast regional with decent home time but weeks or months at a time isn't for me
-
For the first year they will be for you
Brandson Thanks this. -
The Shippensburg terminal sends too many people home over this duck walk. Markham doesn't even do it. People shouldn't do their orientation at Shippensburg.

I agree it's a bit rediculous they should have some kind of leaneancy with taller people it just pisses me off that they send you home for something as dumb as that I can walk under a trailer all day long

Dont listen to the people that say you cant. Trucking really has a high turn over rate and a shortage of drivers that are willing to work. Just go out and do it again. Check the ltl companies where you live some of them will hire you. I have been driving for years and worked for more than 10 companies and have never had to walk under a trailer. I also live unloaded for years if it pays good I will do it.

Depending on where you went to school, I know crete/shaffer trucking have those out 7, home 2.. Or is it out 5 home for 34. Either way.. They pay pretty well and have good benefits. Doesn't NFI have a lot of dedicated or home weekend positions up in your area?

I started the dedicated dollar tree account about six months ago. I am a new driver and I must say it challenges you. If you do not want to do manual labor that account is not for you. Once I got into a routine and use to the labor I was fine. The navigating around these stores can be a joke. I have no doubt became an excellent driver from this account. They say it is not for rookies but, if you can do it you will learn a lot.

I'm going to potentially be on a dedicated account out on the East coast. What's the average pay like for these accounts?
