Decided to post this here as I don't know if Canada and the US have the same course or standards.
Our safety department decided to send us all to a defensive driving course this week as a recent safety audit revealed that none of us have done it. What should I expect to gain from taking this course? From my understanding, its a 7 hour course in a classroom so I'm not too sure this will be anything more than a cover your ### thing for the company. Also, are there any perks from taking this course? (ie lower insurance rates for your personal vehicle)
Based out of Alberta if that makes any difference.

If this course is only online it's a total waste of time. I've been teaching defensive driving and I got lots of people who took online courses.. If you want a good course you HAVE to do it in a vehicle. -
I had a feeling this was only going to be a cover your ### thing for the company. -

So after 2 cancellations they decided to give us the online course. Haven't taken it yet but 7 hours of staring at a computer screen doesn't get me very excited.
