Considering purchasing a FL Columbia with the Detriot 14L engine. Has a DPF and is Cali legal from what I've been told, being able to run Cali is somewhat important to me. Miles in the high 400's. Mid $30's.

What do you guys think? Are these decent engines? Everyone seems to love the 12.7 but don't hear much on the 14L.

I've heard Pittsburgh Power can get the emissions system under control, that's probably my biggest concern.

If thats a series 60 i would stay away from it. Thats a ddec6 and probably the worst years for problems on a series 60. They had water cooled holset vvt chargers and the burner system .
Lots and lots of emissions related trouble with those. Kinda like detroits version of cats bridge engine.
I would bump up to the dd15 .
