So I just filled up DEF at a Pilot and within 20 minutes of driving I got this alert pop up, along with a check engine light.
It's a 2015 Kenworth T-680.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It says to replace with new DEF but I can't really do that with a full tank.
Can't find anything in the owners manual. -
Hold seller accountable ......?
I foresee a trip to a dealership ...
To be fair the def could be ok.. It might be a sensor/ wiring issue...,I'd head towards help. OC or dealer.Grubby, Lepton1 and freightwipper Thank this. -
Is it slushing up?
I have been doing a little reading lately and found that some of the truck stop brands of DEF can slush easier than others. -
I haven't noticed any changes in driving the truck.
I called a dealer and asked what his advice would be...
He said "where did you get the DEF from" I said at a Pilot in Ohio.. he said "that was your mistake right there" (without giving any further explanation)
Then told me I should go to a dealer to get it drained.
I was hoping to avoid going to a dealer over DEF fluid ugh.
Any idea how I can go after Pilot for selling garbage DEF? -
It might not be the def... You never know with the new trucks what the real problem is/was....
The longer you drive the more the ECM will derate the motor.....
P.S. If it was the def every truck that got def at that pilot would be throwing a code.... -
Cat sdp Thanks this.

Since urea freezes at a higher temperature than water, could you have basically pumped water into the tank?
-
I'm going to a kenworth dealer tomorrow nearby and stop driving. Didn't want it to come to that but I'm not gonna take any chances...
Whenever I take chances I get :smt075RetiredUSN and Cat sdp Thank this. -
Best choice , I wish you luck..... I'm going to guess they'll drain the def and replace. And the problem will persist and in the end it will be a sensor or heater for the tank or line......
