There was a truck named "Something Special" that was running the highways in the 1990's. This truck was a tribute to the astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. The Space Shuttle Challenger broke apart after lift off in 1986 and all the astronauts died.
The truck and trailer had a mural of all the astronauts on board, and a mural of the Challenger Space Shuttle.
It was dark red or maroon in color. It really was a head turner running down the highway. Once you saw the truck, you knew you had seen something really nice. I would see it in the Midwest, usually.
Anyone remember this truck or who owned it? It is probably mothballed now. I have searched all over the 'net looking for it and can't find a clue.
Does anyone remember a customized truck named "Something Special"?

When the 587's first came out, there was one called the " The Howler " " The Coast to Coast Prowler ". Used to see that guy all the time. Guess there was never a " Howler II."

If there are pics then Hanks Truck Pics has them. He has pics of about every specialty, customized, and company spec'd rig from the 1930's to present.
Hammer166 and Getsinyourblood Thank this. -
