Here's my issue, currently working a semi-local gig. Even so, I usually get done just 30 to 45 mins. before my clock runs out. So if I get held up at a pick or drop and I run out of hours I'll end up taking 10 when I might be 30 mins from done. this throws a screw in my whole week. I don't need some pencil pushing desk jockey who's never had dirt under his fingernails telling me when to stop or sleep. Most likely be my exit as well.

Your issue isn't with e-logs. It's with the HOS. All an e-log is,is an electronic log book.

Most LEO will let you get away with 3-10 mph over the speed limit. Do these people, like @peterd have a problem with driving a little over the speed limit? Or more accurately, would they be in favor of having a transponder that would control the speed of the truck, based on the speed limit? Yeah, one that slows the vehicle down to 45 in a 45, 25 in a 25, etc. I think most people would feel that is an unreasonable invasion by the government, yet they seem to think that a device that automatically records a violation of HOS is ok.

    Dharok and scottied67 Thank this.

Just because it doesn't validate what you want to believe does not make it any less true.

I know, it pains me that few people see it this way. We need to be fighting to get them changed to a more freeing way.
