We have a 98 pete, 07 pete and a 04 pete all with staight stacks with resonator and there registered in Texas and I keep on being told that we can't run in colorado or utah because of emmision laws and straight stacks is this true?

That would be news to me. Maybe have an issue with noise ordinances if you run your jakes in town but I see lots of older "smokey" and loud trucks out there.

CO requires a muffler, resonator doesn't cut it. Just use your head and you won't get in trouble.

I can't think of any emissions law that is enforced. Just don't roll coal and jake brake all over the place and you won't get into trouble. For most parts Utah hp and Colorado hp don't mess with trucks.

See that's I what I was thinking to. I have never heard of any emmision laws but using the Jakes unapproable I can see that. Thanks for the replies guys I really do appreciate it.

I've seen DOT set up here looking at trucks as they approached. If it didn't look like they had a muffler, they were flagged down for a closer look. No muffler = ticket.
