on my 05 d12 volvo all of a sudden i got no fan clutch, epg1 code, no engine brake, and no boost uphill , bad fuel ecconomy. now for the fun clutch its easy bad solenoid or fan clutch it self. Anyone have an idea before i start replacing other parts. just temp ive cut air line going to fan clutch so it working all the time now.

unplug epg valve check fuses for engine management and replace fuse in fuse box your fan clutch should come back than you can replace the epg valve will set u back somewhere between 500 to 600 to get your engine brake back this would be the first steps than see what happens after that. seen this million times on volvo valve goes back and shorts out all circuits replacing solenoid is not going to help.

did your fan come back after you unplugged and replaced the fuses. The EPG is used as the first stage of engine brake now the problem with this is that the valve behind the turbo which is pretty much an expensive air piston will get stuck and it will choke up your truck causing low power and bad fuel economy the reason i told you to unplug the epg is that it will short out causing other circuits in the ecm to short out such as your fan second stage of engine brake. So when you unlpluged the epg and check the engine management fuses change them if necessary see if your fan is working properly .
