I'm just trying to figure out what is causing this excessive haze from the Blowby tube and when I remove oil cap it's equally as bad. Enough comes out to make it look like it's an exhaust pipe. It's been this way since I got it. Oil pressure sits at a steady 60/90psi. It is using some oil, maybe 1/2 gallon for 1500/2000 miles. Not using any coolant. Could a plugged up Blowby pipe cause this? Is there a filter that could plug up? Thank you

Yes 90 psi when under a load. Is this high for the motor? I know my kenworth would run around 40/50 but I heard these run a lot higher

Whats the haze smell like? Mine smelled like exhaust (with a mix of coolant, bad head) for the most part. Ended up rebuilding it after it broke a ring and took 4 gallons of oil to go 250 miles.

My N14 has quite a bit of blowby as well, but doesn't burn a bit of oil between 15,000 mile changes. I don't really understand it either, but it runs fine, so I'm not gonna concern myself with it until it shows me something else that makes me think it needs a rebuild. If the rings were bad, it would be burning oil.

    Big_D409 Thanks this.

I can't really distinguish any specific smell from it. My truck does burn some oil but after its warmed up there is no visible oil burning. The exhaust does have a strong odor though, not like oil. the Blowby smells similar to exhaust though. We haven't used any coolant yet and we've gone about 3500 miles since I purchased this truck.

Go to parts store an buy a oil test kit, then next time you change the oil fill the jar and mail it in then you will get a report back to your e/mail on whats showing wear inside the motor.

90 is way to high.Either you have diluted oil (fuel, coolant),malfunctioning gauge or oil pump regulator issues.Have you changed the oil and done an oil analysis?Call IH truck garage, and ask.Max oil pressure would be 60 65psi.Blowby is compression in the crankcase.Worn cylinders, rings, etc.
