Saying farewell to everyone on this site. After 11 years of driving, the last 8 as an O/O, I have decided it was time to get a job off the road. Turned my Schneider Financed least back to them a week ago. I have found a nice job using a college degree I earned 40 years ago in the Recreation field. Been hired by a small nursing home not too far from where I live running their activity program for the residents. Start tomorrow. Looking forward to being home more.
I have enjoyed sharing ideas, experience and knowledge about Roehl with everyone. Wish you all the best. Drive the Safe 7 and you should do fine.

Friday, bzinger, Pintlehook and 10 others Thank this.

Nah not going to miss much at all. Been wanting to return back to a normal person with a normal 8-5 job for over 2 years. One you hit 60, trucking gets a little bit harder each year that passes. Hoping some of the aches and pains go away.

bzinger, 48Packard, Gunner75 and 2 others Thank this.

They are going bury me in my truck. I have told everyone, that's why I have my sleeper, it's my coffin. I'm 55 and been at this since I was 18. I will keep on trucking until I can't breathe anymore.

Mike2633, Blackshack46 and Pintlehook Thank this.

You are like my late husband. I was forced into driving after loosing him. Always said I drove a truck but was not a truck driver.

You guys will get a chuckle. In my interview for this new job they asked if I could handle a variable paycheck, work ever other weekend, every other holiday, be dependable and show up for work. No problem! They obviously know nothing about OTR driving or being an owner/operator.

60 my butt. I'm approaching 50 and am starting to wonder about how much longer I'll let these roads beat me up, and I've only been doing this 21ish years.

@TexasPhoenix, I'm a bit envious, wish I would have stayed in school a while longer so I had an option like that. Best O' Luck.

    bzinger and 48Packard Thank this.
