I had mine at 52 inches and it worked out perfect, never any weight issues.
    And I had a heavy 379 Peterbilt, so I would recommend 52

I pull 46k peroxide tanks, so I've got to have mine at 53" and as far forward as I can reasonably shove it or I'm over. APU exception helps.

Tried hauling the same stuff with a 46" height fifth wheel and no matter how forward we shoved it, it was 35k or more. Height matters if you haul single-compartment liquid like I do.

How does the APU allowance help? You only get the actual weight of the unit you've got installed up to the limit.

We had a truck very similar to mine pull in today to drop a load of bulk asphalt...
Measured his at 51 3/4 inches.
He had the same air slide Jost fifth wheel....just taller stands under the plate.
We have called several places in the Charlotte area to try and get the stands switched out and no luck...
It can't be that big of a job!

Assuming his truck was like that when new you can take down the last 6 of the VIN and call the dealer and order what you need based off his build sheet.

Jost makes four height options for an air slider. 7, 8, 9, or 10". Your bracket should be Item 1 on page 22 of the Jost catalogue. http://www.jostinternational.com/files/FW/5th Wheel Catalog - LT SKCAT-01.pdf

Try polar tank. Should be a dealer nearby. They work on / set up trucks for pulling tanks. The one here in mobile can change out the stands as well.

    Thanks guys!
Just got in....will work on it next week..
There is a Polar dealer in the area so I'm sure I can find someone to change them.
The dealer sure does not want to do it....
