I worked for a bottom feeder food service company around my area that's notorious for having a huge turnover rate. Long story short I was let go for not picking up my phone on my off duty hrs. I already talked to our rival company a town over and they'd have me no probs but idk if I want to stay food service. Maines paper and food is where im thinking about going.

Was also looking at a jb dedicated account out of Pittston pa would I have a chance of getting in there with a yr of exp and clean mvr? I'd love to be home everynight and not hump food

Good for you. Fired for not picking up your phone is an awesome excuse to get a better job. That speaks volumes of the company you worked for.

Sounds like they did you a favor. That's really petty of them to fire you for that. Shows the severe lack of job quality they offer.

To answer your question, yes. A year of clean driving makes you a candidate for many, many driving jobs. I'd personally go with JB, they do have some legit dedicated runs.

That's one of the most stupidest reason for termination.sounds like maybe this company has been wanting to get rid of the op for awhile.I dont blame the op for not answering his phone.he was home why should he have to bring his work with him.

I agree. My phone. I pay the bill. I only answer if I want to.

That's the way they work. They replace him with a driver that owes them and they make more money. They could care less about the driver. Their goal is to replace the driver that's getting a little educated with a driver that will take anything because they know no better. Get away from the big turnover companies and go out there and make a career.

I have to answer on the day off before a work day. Start times vary so dispatch needs to confirm each driver has received all the details.
