TransWood Logistics outa Omaha Neb. they have a yard in Alice Tx, they are hiring owner operators, just leased on with them myself, drove for them before, drove for a owner operator, didn't pay me what he said he would, so I got my own truck.

Transwood takes 33%, but you don't have to buy or lease a trailer - you pull theirs. Most companies take 20%.

I've seen owner/fleet ops paying drivers anywhere from 22-28% of net after contractor fees - some company drivers are hourly but you're probably gonna have a hard time finding any of those if you're a driver

I was working for a company hauling end dump and being paid by commision per load it sounds good but really its just a sneaky way to pay you less

I called them today, nice people and the pay seems to sound great for starting in this field.

Most of the guys that I've talked to, from various companies in Colorado and Pennsylvania, are taking home 1200-1800 a week depending on how long they wanna stay out. But for those that have never hauled sand, it can be boing at times. I say this because it's not at all unusual to sit on a location with a load of sand for 24-72 hours. Some guys have turned their sleepers into entertainment heaven, with dvd's, satelite internet, and cable radio. Others just read a good book or play cards with some of the other guys. So if a guy doesn't mind the boredom there is good money to be made in the sand hauling.
