I could live off what I pay in taxes in CA. Really sick of it. Considering moving to Vegas, Dallas, Knoxville, TN, maybe Nashville area or maybe somewhere near Conover, NC.
Somewhere I can get a decent house for well under 200k, and isn't over run with crime.
I know Vegas is a stretch.
Anyone know about the local tanker jobs in those cities?
Not interested in OTR or regional.
Local only.
Just brainstorming here.....
Fried on CA. Thinking about relocating.

I'd say if you want local work you really can't go wrong with Dallas. Plus we don't have state income taxes here in Texas.
As for finding a house under 200k. I'm not sure about that.

Yeah, I figured as much with that.
Dallas would be a challenge.
It's just almost not worth going to work in CA.
You never get ahead.
This state has been ruined. -
I looked at realtor dot com.
Lots of houses under 180k, including "nearby areas".
Wonder if those are bad areas.
I don't want to trade one problem for another. -
Dual income would certainly help.

You sure you can handle the cold of Tenn ?

Dallas is EXPENSIVE!!!! A dude where I use to work had a plan to sell his house and head to FL. His house sold quicker than planned and he had to rent because he wasn't going to leave the company and move until after the 1st of this year. He said a run down 1 bedroom was $8-900/month. I could imagine how expensive a decent house would run in a decent area. But....amigo, living in the DFW area isn't that great. Being from Cali, you may already speak spanish, traffic is a nightmare because they can't drive on days that end in 'y', the general population is almost as rude as the northeast, and living costs are higher then expected. However, driving jobs are a dime a dozen and warehouses are popping up all over the place in the area, so driving jobs are likely to stay plentiful. If you can find a decent place to live out in the rural areas, it wouldn't be a bad move
jet460 Thanks this. -
I don't mind cold at all. I worked in MT for 2 years. lol
It's humidity that kills me, which is why NC is not at the top of the list.
I just like the food. -
I here you on California my sister was at $1800 in South California now she is in Georgia at $800 with a fenced yard and sleeps good. A whole lot easier to visit. I don't know how the average person lives in certain parts of the U.S.A.
