First I want to say that I appreciate all of the feedback from my prior posts and questions.

When you are assigned a trainer and get into their truck and home on the road, what should you bring?
    What should you expect?
    Any unwritten rules?

Now, my goal is to act like I was staying at a friends house for a few weeks. Bring minimal, clean up after yourself, keep clean, keep good hygiene, and be respectful about being in another's "home".

What can those of you who are trainers add?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sleeping bag and pillow.
You have to sleep on the bottom bunk when the truck is moving so it's easier to use a sleeping bag, then when you're not in the bunk, just roll up the sleeping bag and stow it out of the way.

If you have to fart - roll down the window.

Wash the windows when you are getting fuel, or when it's time to switch seats. Treat the truck like it's yours

When you stop for the day, give the guy some space by himself. Go hang out for a cpl of hours and watch t.v. or something in truckstop.

Keep stuff to eat on the truck. Canned goods or the like. And plenty of water. In case you get stuck in bfe in the winter. We got stuck at a rest area in a blizzard. I had plenty of stuff. Partner didn't listen and had nada. Had to toss him a couple granola bars to keep him alive. l o l

Remember not all people get along. Y'all may be great friends or you may want to kill each other.

Your heads in the right place as far as how to treat the situation.

Soak up all the information you can, be respectful but at the same time don't be a pushover. Any trainer worth their salt should be treating their students with understanding and respect.
