new truck with rebuilt non emission engine/tranny

Enlighten me... I'm unfamiliar with these technical terms....

It is basically a new cab, sleeper if equipped, front suspension and tires, and frame. You provide whichever drivetrain you desire, be it from a used truck, or something newer.

A plane with no engine is called a glider. Just like the truck glider. You buy it either as a rolling glider, which lacks an engine and you install whatever you want. A non-rolling glider is basically a cab and 2 frame rails. Useful if you total a good truck. Salvage the running gear and drop it into the glider for less than replacing a whole truck. -
A glider is a new truck with an older rebuilt motor so we don't have to deal with emissions bs.

GiantBeard Thanks this.

The glider kit was ment to be a replacement part. You roll a truck and don't want to junk it buy a kit and rebuilt your truck. People figured out that you can get a new truck with with pre emissions engine. As long as your business model keeps you out of California, it is a beautiful thing.
chris887 Thanks this.
